Finished outlining step 7 of 8 tonight, and now have 13 character charts for the most important characters in "The Second Beast." Yes, that's right, I said 13. The scope of my second novel is larger than the scope of "His Name Was Death," but I think that's pretty common for most new authors.
Keep biting off more until you can't chew anymore.
Step 8 is a list of scenes, but given how detailed my step 6 story synopsis is, I don't expect step 8 to take very long.
And then it will be on to writing.
