I know my progress on The Second Beast has been agonizingly slow, but I am making progress and thought I’d share a small treat with you today: the back cover text. Of course, it’s possible this might be tweaked once or twice before publication, but it should remain largely the same.

Werewolves and angels and ghosts, oh my!

After three months as the Grim Reaper, Michael understands pretty much everything about his new life.

Everything except the wailing spirit that keeps him up at night; or the mysterious deity twisting his fate into knots; or the pack of angry werewolves hunting him through the streets of Seattle; or the way one inexperienced Grim Reaper can stop a genuine, biblical apocalypse with nothing more than a talking cat and a plucky attitude.

Come to think of it, he understands pretty much nothing about his new life.

But with his enemies growing more powerful and numerous by the day, Michael needs to figure it out soon—or watch as the entire world burns down around him.
